L-operaturi ta’ Bugibba, il-Qawra u San Pawl il-Bahar – hwienet, bars, restaurants, u postijiet ohra tan-negozju, tad-divertiment u tas-servizzi li tlaqqghu mill-GRTU ghall-akbar laqgha tal-operaturi ta’ din iz-zona f’dawn l-ahhar snin qablu:
· Li jkunu lesti ghal kull direttiva li taghti l-GRTU inkluz dik ta’ protesti pubblici u wkoll ta’ waqfien bi protesta ta’ hlas ta’ kontribuzzjoni lil Malta Tourism Authority
· Li jelenkaw il-problemi taz-zona u jwaqqfu kumitat ta’ azzjoni flimkien mal-MTA u l-Kunsill Lokali biex il-htigijiet jigu rrangati
· Li jghafsu b’kull mezz possibbli biex ikun assigurat li l-Gvern, Ministeru tat-Turizmu u MTA jifhmu li n-numru ta’ turisti li qed jigu Malta hu ftit wisq u li l-Gvern mhux qed jaghmel bizzejjed biex il-problema ta’ nuqqas ta’ turisti titfejjaq. L-operaturi ta’ Bugibba, il-Qawra u San Pawl il-Bahar isostnu li huma qed isoffru waqgha fin-numru ta’ turisti aktar minn zoni ohra ghaliex il-waqgha l-kbira fin-numru ta’ turisti li jigu Malta hi l-akbar fost dawk it-turisti li tradizzjonalment jiffrekwentaw iz-zona ta’ Bugibba/Qawra/San Pawl il-Bahar.
· L-operaturi qablu wkoll li jibdew jahdmu fuq inizjattivi li jghinu biex aktar Maltin u turisti jiffrekwentaw din iz-zona. Bhala bidu ghal dawn l-inizjattivi fis-16 ta’ Frar ser isir Karnival Specjali f’Bugibba u Qawra bi programm imzewwaq u attrajenti u li ghalih ser jikkontribwixxu s-sidien tal-istabilimenti taz-zona bl-inizjattiva tal-Kunsill Lokali ta’ San Pawl il-Bahar u l-MTA. L-istabilimenti qed jistennew s-sapport shih tal-awtoritajiet kollha biex din l-attivita tkun success.
Il-GRTU ser tiltaqa’ mal-Ministru tat-Turizmu fil-granet li gejjin biex tipprezentalu l-proposti tal-operaturi f’din iz-zona ghal titjieb li hu importanti li jsir fl-iqsar zmien possibbli.
Il-laqgha kienet indirizzata minn Vincent Farrugia, Direttur Generali tal-GRTU u Philip Fenech, President tat-Turizmu u Postijiet tad-Divertiment tal-istess Union, u minn Claude Galea f’isem il-Product Devlopment Unit tal-Malta Tourism Authority li qed taghti s-sapport kollu ghal dawn il-laqghat.
