
Maltese Family Business Succession Questionnaire
This questionnaire forms part of the methodology used to investigate family business theory under the University of Derby Master’s Dissertation titled: ‘Uncovering the Underlying Factors Behind the Hindrance of Succession Planning in Maltese Family Businesses’ by Ms. Martina Pizzuto.
Recent studies show that only 36% of Maltese family businesses have a written succession plan. Whilst, succession is not dictated from a one time event or document, it is critical to understand the underlying factors of why Maltese family business owners are impeding the process for the next generation from taking up leadership of the family firm.
This questionnaire is to be filled by the sole or one of the majority family shareholders, managing director of an active business operating in Malta who has at least 2 family members working within the company.
Your contribution will greatly contribute to Maltese family business theory and will allow the author to deduct actionable recommendations to incumbent family business owners on how to approach business succession.
