GRTU goes to court on Electricity Tariffs

GRTU has last week presented a Judiciary Protest to the Local Courts on its complaint on the Utility Tariffs. In this protest GRTU has made reference to LN 330 of 2008 and requested that the necessary action is taken to: 

Revise the tariffs for consumption of electricity imposed by this Legal Notice, which discriminates between two types of consumers, on the one hand hotels, guesthouses and factories and on the other all the remaining non-residential consumers, the letter are negatively being discriminated against because their annual consumption is lower than a stipulated amount.Ensure that payment for damages is made to those being negatively discriminated against as from 1st October 2008.
