Online Information Session – Changes to the Employment of Third-Country Nationals

Following the recent Labour Migration Policy, on the changes when coming to employ third country nationals and the single work permit application process, we are pleased to invite you to an information session on Malta’s Labour Migration Policy, organised by the SME Chamber in collaboration with the Ministry for Home Affairs, Security, and Employment. This session aims to provide clarity on recent policy changes and their implications for your business operations.

The main changes being proposed include (amongst others):

•⁠  ⁠Updates to the renewal period and changes to the fees
•⁠  ⁠The establishment of a high-risk country list for employment applications
•⁠  Minimum requirements for employing third-country nationals (TCNs), such as employing a specific number of Maltese/EU nationals prior
•⁠  ⁠Integration courses for TCNs prior to their arrival in Malta.

Information Session on how you may achieve energy and water savings? (Pharmacies)

The Energy and Water Agency with the support of the Chamber of SMEs has in the past months conducted Energy and Water Awareness visits in a number of Pharmacies.  The ultimate goal of these visits was to produce recommendations and educate the responsible persons at these enterprises in reducing energy consumption, lower related operational costs and contribute to a more environmentally sustainable facility.

To present the findings an online meeting is being held where officers of the Energy and Water Agency and Malta Enterprise will explain the ‘recommendations’ and associated schemes how their implementation can be supported

Information Session: Bring Your Own Container Initiative

will be organising an online information session dedicated to the Bring Your Own Container (BYOC) initiative, tailored specifically for SMEs.

Information Session – New Scheme for Electric Vehicles

The Malta Chamber of SMEs is inviting all members to attend an online information session on the new schemes for the purchase of Electric Vehicles announced last week by Transport Malta.
During the Information Session, members will be able to direct questions and clarify any particular queries.
Members intending to purchase new vehicles in the years to come are encouraged to attend the informative session.

Online Consultation Meeting – EU Funding 2022-2027 – What’s in it for businesses?

Malta Tourism Strategy 2021-2030 Consultaton meeting

Following up the launch of the draft Malta Tourism Strategy 2021 – 2030, the Malta Chamber of SMEs is organising an online consultation meeting with the Malta Tourism Authority.

The meeting is being held on Thursday 4th March at 10a.m.

During this meeting, MTA officials will present a detailed overview of the Strategy and answer your questions.

The Malta Chamber of SMEs will gather your feedback, which will be then formally submitted.

This strategy will have an impact on various sectors and therefore we highly encourage you to participate.

Information Meeting – Waste Management Plan 2021-2030

The Government published its Waste Management Plan?️♻️ for the next 10 years and it is currently open for consultation until Sunday 31st of January.

This Plan will have an impact on business operations with mandatory recycling requirements, specific waste collection days and private contracted collection.

The Malta Chamber of SMEs will be organising an information meeting on Thursday 28th January at 14:30hrs to explain the document and gather your feedback, which will be then formally submitted.
